Madrid

Madrid between Christmas and New Year...

No, this is not carnival. I was surprised to discover that in Madrid between Christmas and New Year people wear wigs and dress up! We got wigs for ourselves as well - unfortunately, mine didn't quite fit.

The symbol of Madrid - a bear eating from a Strawberry Tree (no, I'm not making that tree up, that's really what it is! Even my friend from Madrid didn't believe at first!).

Point zero of Spain

Sylvia's mum made spanish hot chocolate for us for breakfast which was super-delicious! We didn't have churros in Madrid though, but plenty of yummy tapas!!! I really liked Madrid - I've been there once before to visit a pen friend I had at that time but didn't remember anything (only the thing with the strawberry tree which Sylvia didn't believe in at first ;) - we really had fun!).
