Guerrilla Gardening

While browsing through the Daily Photo Blog Family, I came accross Ham's London Daily Photo Blog where his picture for today is about "war - but not as we know it".

Apparently there is a group of people who go out at night and plant things at desolated places. There is even a Wikipedia article about it and there is also a website guerrillagardening.org.

From the photos on these website it doesn't look to me like they are really thinking about what they are planting - I noticed a lot of rosemary and palm trees, which are not really local plants. But hey, on the other side I love it that people take action and do something about these desolated areas and bring some color into it!

What do you think?

love the action! like the idea...as long as they're not planting 'illegal' plants ;-P I even read somewhere, I gotta find back the source, that there's such a thing as 'green' gym where people pay membership fee like in a gym but they'll all be working out planting or working at a garden...that's cool. I'd join that gym right now :-) if I'll find it back, i'll let you know...can't remember all details now and where it was :-| sorry...but it's for REAL :-)

My first thought was that we have plenty of places here that would need some guerrilla gardening as well... Funny idea to even have a "gym" for that with a membership fee...
